Read To Me Stockton

Partnering with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Imagine a program that fosters a love of reading and where every child receives free books every month until they enter school. Just imagine what this might do for a community. A community where children look forward each day to bonding time with their parents, poring over books and interacting.

“Read To Me Stockton,” working with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, has been plugging away (remember the “The Little Engine That Could?”) doing exactly that.  More than 8,000 Stockton children look forward to their books each month.

This program does have a cost – but this is a cost that supporters think is minuscule compared with the cost of adult illiteracy.
