Marines Lead the Way in Giving

When a serendipitous mix of Marines, over-excited school kids, and both Santa Claus AND the Grinch gather for a rally, the result is unbridled joy.
Pittman Charter School is located in one of the economically disadvantaged sections of Stockton, however their school and community spirit is inspiring. Every year the community joins with the Marine Corps active service members stationed in Lathrop and Stockton Marine Corps Club to sponsor a gift giveaway. This year more than 700 children each received a gift and then, after a brief countdown, opened them together.
Joining Santa and Grinch were the daughters of Medal of Honor recipient Richard Pittman, for whom the school is named.  This annual event is their way of making sure their father’s spirit is kept alive and his memory is never forgotten.
